Instagram pics: the last few months

Belated Happy New Year!

Well, again I've been really slack with blogging but my excuse this time is that we moved into our new place and my parents came to stay! So here is just a quick round up of my Instagram pictures from the last couple of months, mainly consisting of Sydney views, Birthdays and Christmas...

Morning coffee on Shelly Beach.

The walk from Fairlight to Manly

Catching the evening fast ferry into the city.

Birthday cards!

Birthday arvo in the sun watching cricket and drinking wine.

The kitchen of our new house.

Beautiful hydrangeas in our living room.

The Opera House on a very grey day.

Christmas present for the hubby.

Instagram Sydney-style

I haven't done a picture post while I've been in Australia, so here are my Instagram photos since I arrived in Sydney in July. They give a snapshot of our life over the last few weeks, and as you would expect they are mostly of beaches, the opera house and lots of sunshine!

At the airport, my fab husband bought me a new iPad so I can FaceTime family and friends. Note: large glass of wine, sorely needed after many tearful goodbyes.

First morning in Oz, and the sun is shining!

On the Manly Ferry to the city to pick up our bank cards.

The garden where we are staying in the Northern Beaches. Looking forward to afternoons spent in this pool when summer arrives!

You can just about make out the hubby.

Friday picture post

I haven't done one of these for a while as I've been away on and off for the last few weeks, so here are some Instagram photos taken in May. As you will have noticed I've been pretty useless with the whole 'Photo a Day' concept...I didn't even last two days this month! So these are just some random pics not connected with Photo a Day May...or June!

  1. The other half pulling a pint at our friend's pub after a long absence. We met when we worked together in a pub about nine years ago, and both had a go at pulling a pint for old time's sake...

    2. The amazing Plaça Reial in Barcelona (see my blog post about our trip here).

 3. My beautiful café con leche by the beach in Spain.

 4. Drinks at our amazing hotel in Barcelona.

 5. My first homemade iced coffee!

 6. A chilled Saturday morning in the sun (the book, The Thread by Victoria Hislop is brilliant - a must-read if you loved her first two).

7. The view from the apartment in Cannes where I went for a few days with my friend last week.

8. A girls' holiday wouldn't be complete without a bottle of bubbles on the balcony!

 9. A beautiful flower in our garden...thanks should be given to the amazing amount of rain we've had, but I think we've had enough now.

Looking back through these photos, I realise that many of them involve a drink of some kind - be it wine or coffee! Please don't judge - I have been on holiday this month! Have a great weekend.

Friday Picture Post

Just a quick picture post this morning. I'm off to the wilds of Norfolk for the weekend for my Dad's birthday! Not sure if they have decent internet up there (!) so won't be blogging until I get back on Tuesday. Here are a few Instagram photos from the last week or so.

My fillet steak being cooked by Dad on my weekend with the parents while husband was away.

Although I do quite like it when he goes to the US for work trips...!

I discovered a new green tea flavour! I love lychees (particularly in martinis).

We went to our friends' beautiful wedding last weekend.

Lovely rosebud tea wedding favours...

And a beautiful wedding cupcake which I consumed as soon as we got home!

Lillies in our kitchen, trying to bring a bit of sunshine into our lives.

Sunday lamb shanks with chorizo, washed down with...

A real treat for a Sunday evening.

The cat sunbathing with me on the one day of sunshine.

My attempt at pasta making...

And I did it!!

Have a fantastic bank holiday weekend!

Photo a Day May: No 2. Skyline

Apologies for the late and very short post, but I've just got back from drinks in town and it's still the 2nd May. So here is my photo number 2 - skyline. It's not great, but it was my view from the front of the bus on the way to drinks this evening.

Photo a Day May: No 1. Peace

And here is my first photo for May! Today is 'peace' and can be anything that represents peace in your life (if you ever get any!). This is my idea of peace, just five or ten minutes in the morning with the paper and a cappuccino from my favourite coffee shop down the road.

Just to remind you in case you have decide to embark on the #photoadaymay challenge from today, the list is as follows:

I will also be posting my photos on Twitter (@hollygalt) and my Pinterest account, so please follow me on those too!

Happy May Day!
